Scientist of the Invisible

In het kader van 'cultuurshock = goedkoop leuke televisie' heeft een tv-producent Gene Simmons losgelaten in een chique Engelse muziekschool. Een leerling blogde erover onder de schitterende titel The Barrel is Duly Scraped (alleen al te lezen wegens het schitterend gebruik van termen als 'a healthy dollop of', 'verbose twaddle' en 'the sorts of oafs'):

Gene Simmons arrived on a beautiful summer’s day to destroy the peace in our homes. He pulled up in a blacked out limousine, and stepped out looking like an S&M model, all black leather and hairspray. “Who’s he?” was the question on everybody’s lips. “Gene Simmons. He’s very famous” came the reply.

Funny that. I would have thought that celebrities only went on reality TV shows when their careers were deader than the proverbial dodo. His tired looking face spoke volumes of his burnt out career and his desperation for some limelight.
