Too much ammunition lately, not enough self-control.

Gem > The Strokes

Na het beluisteren van First Impressions of Earth op de VPRO Luisterpaal en het zien van het Gem/Spider Rico-kerstconcert stel ik wetenschappelijk vast:
Gem > The Strokes
Alleen al omdat Maurits van Gem niet Shane MacGowan probeert na te doen. En omdat zij wel een split-single met Spider Rico hebben en The Strokes niet.

Tof dat je The Strokes noemt. Eindelijk een band die ik ken :-)
Maar volgens mij vind je ze niet goed omdat je gewoon weer een andere mening dan de rest erop na wilt houden ;-)

Daar maak ik me wel schuldig aan, alhoewel steeds minder - conformisme is gezelliger - maar in het geval van The Strokes is het echt niet zo. Ik vind ze bij vlagen leuk en vooral technisch erg goed - strakkere ritmesecties vind je nauwelijks - maar echt briljant vind ik het niet.
