Longlist 2007

Het is november en dat betekent... lijstjestijd! Zeker als je zoals ik het lijstjesgebeuren voor KindaMuzik moet coördineren. Voor mijn eigen overzicht en om jouw geheugen wat op te frissen heb ik alvast een longlist gemaakt. Het gaat old school rockistisch om de albums, maar ik heb van allemaal een van de betere nummers geselecteerd en hier naartoe geupload. Er had ook iets bij moeten staan van Obituarys sterke comeback Xecutioner's Return, maar die kan ik niet rippen door een kopieerbeveiliging.
Dan zijn er nog een aantal platen die ik nog niet (goed) beluisterd heb en die op basis van eerder werk van dezlefde band wel een goede kans maken:

  • Darkthrone - F.O.A.D.
  • The Hives - The Black & White Album
  • Dillinger Escape Plan - Ire Works
  • Witchcraft - The Alchemist
  • Dodsferd - Cursing Your Will to Live
  • Anaal Nathrakh - Hell Is Empty and All the Devils are Here
  • Drudkh - Estrangement
  • Impaled Nazarene - Manifest

Dillinger Escape Plan en Witchcraft hebben zich eigenlijk al min of meer geplaatst voor de longlist.

Natuurlijk waren er ook zeperds: Maxïmo Park en LCD Soundsystem kwamen beiden met saaie albums waar ze het punkige dat ze eerder zo goed maakte hadden weggepolijst. Maar mijn muzikale dieptepunt was toch wel White Chalk, waarop PJ Harvey werkelijk alles wat haar één van mijn favoriete artiesten maakte opzij schuift ten faveure van kattengejank over pianogepingel.

Laat voor de interactiviteit even weten wat ik over het hoofd heb gezien en wat aantoont dat ik absoluut geen smaak heb. Helemaal blij ben ik als je in de lijst iets fantastisch ontdekt dat je nog niet kende.

de driehonderdzoveel mb aan liedjes zijn binnen, maar ik zit nét in een fase waarin ik alleen zin heb in vertrouwde klanken, dus de ontdekkingen laten nog even op zich wachten

Goon Moon vond ik gewoon niet goed, Les Savy Fav staat nog te wachten op beluistering op de harde schijf en bij The Madd wacht ik nog tot KM mij vraagt die te recenseren.

ik heb bijna alles beluisterd (minstens eéén minuut, behalve de black metal) en een stuk meer weggeflikkerd dan behouden (zat erin), maar de beloning is daar: Municipal Waste - Lunch Hall Food Brawl

Bijna al mijn favoriete metalbands uit de jaren 80 tachtig in één liedje van 2 minuten! Goed gedaan jongens! Is de rest van dat album van hetzelfde laken een pak?
