De link naar de eerste aflevering op YouTube zat erbij. Ik moet zeggen: geen woord gelogen! Briljante satire van de slechte jaren 80 tv waarmee ik ben opgegroeid (en die ik als kind fantastisch vond.) Vreemd dat het in Nederland door niemand is opgepikt.
Nog een bonus: zoals alle sterren in jaren tachtig series zijn ook die van Garth Marenghi's Darkplace een muziekcarrière begonnen. Het fantastische resultaat het 'One Track Lover':
When a friend introduced me to it I was put off by what I perceived as its '80s-ness and sci-fi angle, but it's really one of the best takes on film and television that I've seen. Not to sound like Very Short List, but what makes this 6-ep British television series worth a look is not its spoofs of any number of genres -- sci-fi, medical drama, horror, the '80s -- but the fact that more often than not it rises above spoofs and achieves excellent satire. There's the criticism of each genres, of the ostensibly inherent chauvinism of the genres, and well laughs -- lots of 'em. At the risk of hyperbole, these bloke are the heir apparents (as in, Footlights care of Cambridge) to Monty Python. Bang-on.
